Guayaki Yerba Mate Pumpkin Spice Adaptogen Latte

With November underway, the days are getting colder and darker as we move towards Winter. These changes can be hard on our bodies and our minds. If you’re like me, you may be not so ready to let go of Fall yet as the snow flurries and bitter winds become more frequent. It is important to take extra care of ourselves during these times by boosting up our health with nutrient dense ingredients.

Fall isn’t over quite yet, which means Pumpkin is still the reigning king.  This antioxidant + beta-carotene rich fruit is something you should definitely take advantage of while still in season. Autumn also means several powerful adaptogenic mushrooms are in season as well, perfect for fighting stress and fatigue. So in the pursuit of creating an all around health booster perfect for increasing your energy + brain power all while kicking up your immunity I bring to you the perfect Yerba Mate Pumpkin Spice Adaptogen Latte. So with the help of Guayaki Yerba Mate + the rest of these amazing ingredients get ready to come to life with this seasonal beverage.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Four Tablespoons Pumpkin Puree

  • Guayaki Yerba Mate (One Mate Bag or 1 Tablespoon Loose Leaf)

  • One Tablespoon/Tea Bag Adaptogen of Choice (I used 1 tea bag of Chaga for mine)

  • Half Teaspoon Pumpkin Spice

  • Half Teaspoon Turmeric Powder

  • Two Tablespoons Local Honey

  • One Cup Almond or Other Alternative Milk

  • Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

*Makes approx. 2 drinks


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine your loose leaf or tea bag of Yerba Mate with your adaptogen of choice in a cup and brew for 6-10 minutes. Strain if loose leaf was used.

  2. In a small saucepan on medium heat combine the brewed yerba mate and adaptogen, almond milk, pumpkin puree, tumeric, and vanilla. Stir ingredients together until steam rises from the edges.

  3. Take off heat and stir in the honey + pumpkin spice. Adjust flavors to taste.

  4. For extra deliciousness create a frothy milk topping with your plant based milk or add some dairy free whip. Sprinkle a little extra pumpkin spice.

  5. Come to life!
