Sparkling Sage & Ginger Yerba Maté Tonic With Guayaki

Spring is right around the corner, our energies are slowly being elevated, and I think we are all itching to ditch this Winter business. However, these transitions between the seasons can be just as difficult on our minds + bodies. That is why I decided to concoct this pre-Spring tonic inspired by Guayaki’s newest flavor, Sparkling Ginger Sage, to bring you to a state of overall well being.

INGREDIENTS/SUPPLIES:

  • 1.5 TBSP Guayaki Loose Leaf Yerba Maté or 1 Tea Bag

  • 1.5 TBSP Dried Sage Leaf

  • 1 Inch Piece of Fresh Ginger (Minced)

  • 1 TSP Raw Honey

  • Splash of Lemon Juice

  • 1 Cup Sparkling or Tonic Water

*Serves Two

DIRECTIONS:

  1. On the stovetop, bring 1 cup of purified water to boil, then reduce to a simmer. Add in Yerba Maté, dried sage, and ginger. Stirring occasionally, let simmer for 10 minutes then add in honey.

  2. Take off heat, and set aside until cool.

  3. Once cooled, strain mixture into cup of choice halfway. Fill second half with sparkling or tonic water. Add ice cubes, and garnish if desired. Add gin or vodka for the perfect evening cool-down.
